Hope you’re all doing something fun and festive on this Christmas Eve.
I am going to be spending all day in the airport, feeling sorry for those who have to work on the holiday. I’m considering bringing around Christmas cards to all the airline workers… Safe travels to those of you who will be spending the day similarly!

Christmas is close upon us! And… oops. I made about twenty too-few cards this year. Here’s a quick DIY tutorial for all you procrastinators out there.
– Modge Podge, or some other adhesive
– An old paintbrush
– Blank cards
– Paper scraps… library cards, pages from old textbooks, tissue paper, colored swatches from magazines, etc.
– Black pen
– Ribbon, or yarn and large tapestry needle
The process is simple. Using your paintbrush, adhere torn scraps of paper to the blank card with Modge Podge on both the front and back of the scraps. Use many small pieces to make whatever shapes you like! I chose to do simple square presents, with small rectangular shapes of a different color paper for the ribbons and bows. Some other options: stitch some yarn into the card for added texture, draw the ribbon and bow with your pen, or adhere actual ribbon to the card.
You can outline the presents in black pen if you wish, and add decorative dots, squiggles, or whatever else your festive little heart desires. Write your choice of holiday greeting on the front, and you’re done! You’ll need to let these babies dry for a few hours, depending on your climate and the moisture in the air. If the cards aren’t flat when they dry, stick them under a heavy stack of books to flatten them out. Easy, huh?
I got creative (and desperate for blank cards) towards the end, and started doing designs right ONTO the library cards… They actually were pretty cute!
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Dads, boyfriends, husbands (I assume), brothers, uncles, and male friends are impossible to get gifts for. If you try to get them something serious, they’re bored with it. If you try to get them something funny, you inevitably miss their sense of humor completely.

So I put together a little gift guide for the man in your life, based around an item that I’m actually purchasing for my hubby. (See if you can guess which one it is… it’s hidden in there somewhere.)
